Cheers to the New Year!
2020 is just around the corner! This not only means a new year with a fresh set of goals, but this also means a new decade. Yes, you read that last sentence correctly, a new decade. With that said, we can not go in the New Year with just the same flimsy skincare goals. No, we must set realistic ones! Here are some examples to help you get started.
1. Make a Dermatologist appointment: Even if you do not have any noticeable skin problems it is always good to have a professional share their knowledge with you. This is the perfect time to talk about skin tags, possible discoloration, wrinkle prevention, and more. Making a Dermatologist appointment in 2020 is an awesome skincare goal!
2. Make plans for a routine: If you do not have a skincare routine, get one! And if you have one, see what you can do to improve it. Your skin changes its needs as you age. It could need more moisture or start showing signs of hyperpigmentation. Making a skincare routine that will fit in with your lifestyle and your skincare needs is a must this year. Plain soap and water are not going to cut it this decade!
3. Eating an extra serving of veggies or fruit per day: No, having cherries on your cheesecake doesn't count nor does asking for extra onions on your burger! Let's get serious, we can only do so much on the outside. True healthy skin starts from the inside. So instead of telling everyone, you are on a diet that will last 2.5 seconds, try adding an extra serving of the healthy stuff to your diet. Snacking obviously, but when you pile food on your plate at BBQs, Parties, and Gatherings, opt for an extra helping of fruit or veggies over the potato salad and mac and cheese.
The moral of this blog is to keep your healthy skincare goals simple! You want to feel excited about your improvements not feel overwhelmed. If you know someone that needs a jump start to their new year skincare goals, please feel free to share this post with them! Have a safe and happy New Year!
